Since 2002, the Six String Social Club has presented concerts featuring the world's best guitarists. While our concerts, of course, appeal to the guitar enthusiast, we strive to present artists that appeal to a much wider audience. Our goal is to create a memorable evening out, featuring world-class entertainment, without having to drive into downtown Atlanta. Our location is the Woodstock Community Church, 237 Rope Mill Road, Woodstock, GA just west of downtown Woodstock and east of I-575 near the outlet mall.
Our Fall 2016 concert season is going to an exiting 4 months. We start the season on September 10, 2016 with one of our favorites from last year John Knowes, CGP. John is best known as Chet Atkins arranger. He has been in staple in Nashville scense for years and now play several concerts a year with Tommy Emmanuel. John will also be doing a workshop on the afternoon of September 11, the day following the concert.
Next up, on October 8, 2016, is one of the more popular regulars to our series, Laurence Juber. LJ got his start in the music business as the lead guitarsit for Paul McCartney and Wings. Now LJ makes his home in LA and when his is not touring as a solo act, he makes his living doing scores for movies and TV shows.
On November 12, 2016 I am excited to be presenting English guitarist Adrian Legg. Adrian has been touring as a solo act in Europe and the US since the 1970's. He is one of the most creative and entertaing live perfromers you will ever see or hear. I am already selling tickets to this show which is very encouraging. Get your tickets early for this one.
Of course, you all know who Ed Gehard is. I have been trying for years to get Ed to bring his very popular Christmas show to the Six String Social Club. This year I am pleased to say that we will be presenting his show on December 10. Ed has been doing this show for a number of years near his home in New Hampshire, and in the Ashville and Gatlinburg areas.
At the Six String Social Club every ticket holder is a VIP. Our intimate setting means that no seat is more than 20 feet from the stage. We offer free, convenient parking, plus a unique opportunity to meet the performer during the mid-show break and after the show. Our concert hall is easily accessible from I-575 and downtown Woodstock.. And, if you consider all the money you save by staying on the north side of town ($10 for parking, $8.00 for gas, $12.00 for ticket service fees, Total $30) with a $30 ticket the entertainment is practically free. I hope you will join up for our 12th year of presenting some of the world's finest guitarists.
